\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\tMaria Ines graduated from the University of Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) in 2014. After graduating, she worked in a small animal hospital in the North of Portugal and then completed an academic small animal internship at the teaching hospital of UTAD.<\/p>
She eventually moved to the UK where she worked in a first opinion small animal hospital for a year. Her interest in cardiology grew stronger and in order to pursue this, Maria Ines undertook a rotating internship at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists, followed by a cardiology internship at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists.<\/p>
Maria Ines completed a Cardiology residency at the University of Edinburgh between 2019 and 2022, whilst studying towards an MSc that was awarded in 2022. She\u00a0 became a European and RCVS recognised Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology in 2023.<\/p>
After finishing the residency, Maria Ines stayed at the University of Edinburgh as a Lecturer of Cardiology, being heavily involved with clinical teaching of both under and postgraduate students and with clinical research.<\/p>
Maria Ines loves every aspect of medical and interventional cardiology and is very excited to contribute to this beautiful field of veterinary medicine.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
