{"id":3801,"date":"2024-06-18T16:10:28","date_gmt":"2024-06-18T14:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ifevet.com\/uk\/?p=3801"},"modified":"2024-06-18T16:10:28","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T14:10:28","slug":"spinal-trauma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ifevet.com\/eu\/spinal-trauma\/","title":{"rendered":"Spinal trauma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The severity and extent of the spinal cord injury determine the appearance of particular clinical situations with characteristic signs such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Schiff-Sherrington posture<\/strong>: the patient is in lateral decubitus, with extensor hypertonia of thoracic limbs (maintaining voluntary motor function), hypotonia of pelvic limbs with normoreflexia (intact spinal reflexes) and tendency to opisthotonos.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spinal shock<\/strong>: loss of spinal reflexes, motor and sensory activity caudally to a T3-L3 spinal cord injury.
