Jo\u00e3o Brand\u00e3o, LMV, MS, Dipl. ECZM (Avian), Dipl. ACZM, es profesor de medicina zool\u00f3gica en la Universidad Estatal de Colorado. Obtuvo su t\u00edtulo de veterinario en la Universidad de Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes e Alto Douro, en Vila Real, Portugal, y complet\u00f3 internados en medicina de animales ex\u00f3ticos y zool\u00f3gicos en Great Western Referrals (Swindon, Reino Unido), Tufts University (North Grafton, Massachusetts) y la Universidad de Georgia (Athens, Georgia).<\/p>

Dr. Brand\u00e3o complet\u00f3 una residencia de tres a\u00f1os en medicina zool\u00f3gica y un M\u00e1ster en Ciencias en ciencias cl\u00ednicas veterinarias en Louisiana State University. Es diplomado por el European College of Zoological Medicine (Avian) y el American College of Zoological Medicine, as\u00ed como Especialista Veterinario Europeo (EBVS\u00ae) en Medicina y Cirug\u00eda Aviar.<\/p>
