Leigh is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse who qualified in 2012 from the College of Animal Welfare. With a strong foundation in general veterinary nursing, she quickly found her passion in feline medicine and emergency care, leading her to pursue further qualifications in both areas. She holds a Feline Nursing Certificate and a Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care, reflecting her commitment to advancing her clinical skills and providing the highest standard of care to her patients.<\/p>

Throughout her career, Leigh has held various positions across small animal practices, including a pivotal role as Head Theatre Nurse, where she led a team in managing surgical workflows and ensuring excellence in perioperative care. Her attention to detail, calm demeanour in high-pressure situations, and dedication to mentoring junior staff made her an invaluable member of the surgical team.<\/p>

In 2020, Leigh transitioned into referral nursing, where she now supports complex cases and works alongside veterinary specialists in a multidisciplinary environment. Her expertise in feline nursing has made her especially valued in the care of cats with critical and chronic conditions and her current role also includes being the Feline Site Champion, where she advocates for cat-friendly practices within the hospital, helps implement ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic standards, and supports team education in feline handling and welfare. She is known among her peers for her gentle handling techniques and feline-friendly approach.<\/p>

An advocate for continuous professional development and feline welfare, Leigh remains actively engaged in CPD and regularly contributes to improving feline standards within the clinics she works in.<\/p>

Outside of work, and alongside being a busy mum of two children, she enjoys spending time with her own spicy cat – Ozai, practices martial arts and holds a blackbelt in both Taekwondo and Kickboxing and sings as part of an acoustic duet.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
