Mikel Sabater

Graduated in veterinary medicine at the UCH-CEU Valencia in 2005 where he did an internship in the anaesthesia and surgery service and another one, part-time, in wild animals. He then worked in Spanish veterinary clinics and hospitals and went on to run his own exotic animal medicine and surgery service.
In 2011 he completed the RCVS CertZooMed and started a three-year residency in avian medicine at Great Western Exotics, Swindon, UK, achieving the title of Diplomate of European College of Zoological Medicine (Avian Specialty). Mikel then worked at Loro Parque, Tenerife, and the Oasis Park (Fuerteventura) and managed the Australian Birds, Reptiles, Exotics and Wildlife Hospital (AREPH) at the University of Sydney in Australia.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in wildlife toxicology at the University of Valencia and FISABIO, works in 2 veterinary clinics in England, 3 zoos (Banham Zoo, Africa Alive! and Shutterworth) and two telediagnostic platforms (Vet-CT and Vet-o’clock), as well as publishing and lecturing regularly at conferences and masters.
