Dipl. ECVAA RCVS Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia

Dr. Maria Angeles Jimenez Lozano graduated from the veterinary school of the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain) in 1999. In 2000 she moved to the United Kingdom, where she worked for two years in mixed practice. Shortly after she joined the Royal Veterinary College of London (RVC) where she completed an anaesthesia internship and residency program. She then worked as a clinical instructor in anaesthesia at the Royal Veterinary College from June 2007 to August 2011. After that, she moved to the United States of America where she worked as a clinical assistant professor in anaesthesiology in the University of Minnesota from November 2011 to December 2013. In April 2014 she returned to the United Kingdom to work as a clinical anaesthetist in the Animal Health Trust until December 2014. Dr. Jimenez joined North Downs Referrals Specialists, a renown referral specialist hospital in the south of England, in January 2015 and she is currently working as a specialist veterinary anaesthetist and head of anaesthesia department there. Her clinical interests are pain recognition and management, anaesthetic management of the compromised patient and artificial ventilation. Dr. Jimenez holds a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons certificate in veterinary anaesthesia (CertVA) and is a board certified Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (DECVAA).
