Janette qualified as a RVN (Registered Veterinary Nurse) in 2001 and initially worked in mixed animal practice in Cumbria for 15 years. Since 2013 Janette has worked in referral hospitals, and as lead anaesthesia nurse at Wear Referrals. During this time, she has gained a certificate in Emergency & Critical Care and the Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

Janette now works as lead anaesthesia nurse at Bridge Referrals, leading the anaesthesia nursing team, supporting the ongoing development of the nurses and increasing confidence and knowledge of anaesthesia nursing across the nursing community.

Janette has a particular interest in developing her own skills performing ultrasound guided regional nerve blocks, whilst also being passionate about minimising fear, anxiety and stress, and improving patient experience in hospitalised veterinary patients.
