Veterinary surgeon since 2009 (ICBAS), MRCVS DipECVIM-CA (Cardiology).
In 2013 he was a cardiology intern at the University of Liverpool and in 2013/2014 he completed a rotating internship at the Dick White Referrals hospital (UK).
He began his residency in veterinary cardiology at the University of Liverpool in 2014.
After completing his residency, he worked as an assistant professor for a few months at the same university.
Between 2018 and 2022 he was a cardiologist at Willows Veterinary Referrals.
He has been a European Diplomate in Veterinary Cardiology since 2021 and returned to Portugal in March 2022.
Since 2014, he has been a speaker at national and international congresses and training courses for general practitioners, with an interest in cardiology, and specialists. He has a special interest in interventionism, arrhythmology and the management of complex heart failure cases.
