Julie is an EBVS® and RCVS specialist in veterinary cardiology. She graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011 with distinction. Following this she spent two years in general practice before returning to the University of Liverpool in 2013 to complete a one year rotating internship in small animal studies. She went on to complete a three year residency in veterinary cardiology in 2018, also at the University of Liverpool. Following this she remained at the university as lecturer in cardiology before joining Northern Ireland Veterinary Specialists in late 2019. Julie obtained the European (ECVIM) Diploma in Cardiology in 2021 and was awarded RCVS specialist status the same year. Julie also achieved the RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice (internal medicine) in 2018. Julie enjoys all aspects of cardiology, particularly feline cardiomyopathies, congenital cardiac disease and arrhythmias. She has contributed to research in the field of veterinary cardiology and is passionate about veterinary education.
