Margaux Kuijlaars

DVM MVM DipECVIM-CA MRCVS, EBVS® European Specialist in Small Animal Internal

I graduated from the University of Ghent in 2011, after which I worked in general practice in the Netherlands for four years.

Due to a growing passion for internal medicine, I took a leap of faith and moved to Scotland in 2016 to undertake a Rotating Internship at the University of Glasgow. I had the great fortune of staying on as a Junior Clinician and subsequently undertook my Internal Medicine Residency at the same university. I passed my ECVIM board exams in 2022 and am still working at the University of Glasgow. In 2022 I also received my MVM following the acceptance of my thesis titled Bile Acid Metabolism in Dogs with Chronic Enteropathies.

Although I enjoy many aspects of internal medicine, the surprising truth is that my thesis has resulted in a special interest in gastroenterology.
