Stamatina Giannikaki

Stamatina Giannikaki obtained her veterinary degree (DVM) in 2012, followed by a Master’s degree in general surgery and anesthesia in 2014 (AUTH University, Greece). After a two-year rotating internship and first opinion work she completed a specialty internship program in veterinary ophthalmology (Optivet Referrals, UK). By the end of 2019 she completed the residency of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She holds the European Diploma in Veterinary Ophthalmology and is the founder and director of Meyevet, the first specialist-led ophthalmology referral service in veterinary medicine in Greece. Matina is currently a consultant in selected referral centers in the UK and veterinary clinics in Greece and Cyprus. She is involved in the training of ECVO residents and has a particular interest in intraocular surgery and ocular biomaterial research.
